What is Castmere?
Castmere is white-label live-streaming software for independently branded customer platforms. It brings viewer, creator and administration experiences into one maintained foundation, configured and deployed for each customer.
What does a license include?
The selected software package and the implementation scope in your proposal. Branding, deployment assistance, customization, support and any extensions must be defined there; a starting price is not a promise of unlimited implementation work.
Who pays for hosting and video bandwidth?
Hosting, video bandwidth, storage, CDN usage, payment processing and other third-party infrastructure services are billed directly to the customer or their providers.
Will the platform use my domain and branding?
That is the white-label model: your domain, identity, accounts and creator ecosystem in an independent installation. Complete brand coverage and the agreed configuration are verified during deployment acceptance.
Is this a shared platform with other customers?
The deployment architecture is designed for independent customer installations. Customer databases, accounts, credentials and infrastructure should be isolated, while the maintained core software is shared.
Can I use any payment or streaming provider?
Provider compatibility is specific. The current foundation includes Stripe and the nginx-rtmp/MediaMTX video stack. Additional adapters are planned or separately scoped; they are not automatically included because a provider appears on the roadmap.
Can I resell the source code?
Standard packages do not advertise source-code resale or redistribution rights. The final license agreement will define the rights granted to operate your own platform.
Will updates happen automatically?
The intended model is controlled releases, with compatibility and migration checks before customer upgrades. Breaking changes should never automatically deploy to a customer production installation. The fleet update system is still being developed.
Can I explore the product today?

How long does a deployment take?
Timing depends on the agreed scope, infrastructure access, branding, integrations and acceptance testing. A realistic schedule is provided in the proposal; no instant-deployment guarantee is made.
